The OCTAPUS project was disseminated and presented at the exhibition of the EuCNC & 6G Summit conference in Malaga this week.
Tolga Tekin from Fraunhofer IZM and Chris Vagionas from the WinPhoS Research Group displayed the brochure of the project, and engaged with multiple telecom vendors and network operators presenting the OCTAPUS solution and technologies being developed.
An experimental demonstrator of the OCTAPUS project was set-up during the 7th plenary meeting at the facilities of Orange in Lannion in France between 19-20 November 2025.
The demonstrator included the integration of the OCTAPUS multi-band glass-based photonic components, deterministic Time-Sensitive Network Traffic and real-time 50G Passive Optical Network traffic. The following video presents more details on the demonstrator that was set-up.
The 7th plenary meeting of the OCTAPUS project took place at the facilities of ORANGE in Lannion, France, organized by Fabienne Saliou between 19-20 November 2025.
The consortium presented a summary of the key achievements and the development of the prototypes, acknowledging the excellent execution of the project. In parallel a demonstration experiment was also set-up, integrating part of the OCTAPUS technologies in a field-fiber of an in-service 50G HS-PON. During the week of the field-trials, a poster of the OCTAPUS project was set-up, informing the visitors on the project achievements and highlighting the innovations for the Next Generation Central Offices.

OCTAPUS participated in the Athens INFOCOM World 2025 Conference Expo: "AI-VOLUTION - A Brave New World", on November 26 2025.
Ioanna Mesogiti from the consortium partner OTE represented the project with a #poster describing its innovative archtiecture in the Science Section Workshop of the event.
The Athens INFOCOM World Conference Expo is the annual gathering for the key stakeholders of the Greek ICT industry and is highly attended by thousands of visitors every year, while the Workshop was a joint dissemination activity between several EU funded projects, organised by OTE.
