OCTAPUS had a strong presence in the ONDM 2025 conference. Pietro Piscione of NXW (silver sponsor of ONDM 2025) presented the OCTAPUS vision and a video demonstration of multi-domain coordination in the NXW booth. Marios Gatzianas of AUTH provided an overview of the OCTAPUS control plane for TSN and optical domain coordination.
The 2nd review meeting of the OCTAPUS project was held online via zoom on Wednesday 30/5/2025.
The consortium presented a summary of the key achievements, the development of the prototypes and progress towards implementing the final demonstrators., which were greeted with enthusiasm by the reviewers, acknowledging the excellent execution of the project-review.
The 5th plenary meeting of the OCTAPUS project took place between 09-10 October 2024 in Pisa, Italy. The meeting was organized by Nextworks.
The consortium had the chance to discuss the technical progress of the project as well as the advances in the field of 50G transceivers for HS-PON networks, low-power optical circuit switching devices and SDN-controlled TSN-networking with deterministic traffic profiles.
The OCTAPUS project was presented at the IEEE International Conference on High Performance Switching and Routing, that took place between 22-24 July 2024 in Pisa Italy.
Pietro Piscione from Nextworks presented the work entitled "Building the Enhanced Control Plane of Next Generation Central Offices" at the Workshop on Control and Management of Future Optical Networks. Dr. Agapi Mesodiakaki presented OCTAPUS project, discussing its main goal and path towards 6G transport networks during her online lecture on Next Generation Systems and Networks to the MSc students of the Department of Applied Informatics of the University of Macedonia.
